NEWS: WORLDWIDE SIMULCAST FOR SAO

"It's been a year Kazuto "Kirito" cleared «Sword Art Online» (SAO). This time, Kikuoka Seijirou, member of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Technology, Second Separated Advanced Network Division asks him to investigate a game called Gun Gale Online, specifically a player, who calls himself Death Gun. Death Gun possesses a weapon capable of killing a person in-game as well as in the real world also."

The Sword Art Online Panel at  Sakura-Con in Seattle featured a few SAO familiar faces in Producer Shinichiro Kashiwada, Director Tomohiko Ito and Character Designer Shingo Adachi.

More importantly than that, the panel confirmed that Sword Art Online II (dealing with the Phantom Bullet arc) will be a worldwide simulcast. Naturally this means simulcast in Japanese, which is cool for fans of subtitles, not so much for me. What is wonderful is the fact that SAO is so successful that it's getting picked up so soon, almost immediately. That translates into a faster English dub which is what I'm holding out for.

Space Dandy is one show in particular that comes to mind when I think about simulcasts that got picked up almost immediately. The English and Japanese dub aired almost a day after apart. It's doubtful if SAO is that popular, but instead of the usual 1-1.5 year wait, SAO II might just arrive in English as soon as Christmas this year or early next year in either January or February.
